✦ The short answer: Every Sandals resort can accommodate vegetarian guests, but two stand out for us: Sandals Barbados, home of the Greenhouse farm-to-table restaurant, and Sandals Curaçao, whose Aolos restaurant has several meat-free dishes. Tell the resort about your diet before you arrive and the chefs will plan around it.

Eating well as a vegetarian on vacation used to take some work. Today, Sandals resorts offer meat-free choices at every restaurant, and a few go further with menus built around fresh produce. Here are the two we recommend most, plus tips to make it easy.

Healthy farm-to-table dining at Sandals in Barbados

Greenhouse at Sandals Barbados

Greenhouse is a farm-to-table restaurant with plenty of vegetarian choices. Dishes we've loved on recent menus include a seasonal panzanella (an Italian bread salad with tomato and cucumber), fire-roasted pumpkin and onion with five-spice, and a grilled portobello entrée. Guests at Sandals Royal Barbados next door can dine here too.

Aolos at Sandals Curaçao

Aolos brings Mediterranean flavors to Curaçao, with vegetarian dishes such as spanakopita (spinach and feta in phyllo), vegetable kofta and an apple and roasted cauliflower salad. Read more about the resort in our Sandals Curaçao itinerary.

Tips for Vegetarians at Sandals

  • Tell us your diet when you book. We'll note it on your reservation so the resort knows before you arrive.
  • Talk to the chef. At à la carte restaurants, chefs are happy to adjust dishes.
  • Use the buffet for variety. It's the easiest place to find salads, grains, fruit and vegetable sides.
  • Vegan or other needs? Most major diets can be accommodated. Ask us before you choose a resort.
