The Complimentary Package — What It Actually Includes
The complimentary Eternal Love package is one of Secrets' strongest marketing messages — and it's genuinely a good offering for what it is. But it's important to understand what it actually covers before you build your expectations around it.
The complimentary package covers the ceremony essentials: a ceremony location, basic floral arrangements, a wedding cake, a champagne toast, a microphone and sound system, and your on-site wedding coordinator. It is a beautiful, complete ceremony — but it does not include a private reception dinner, upgraded florals, photography, entertainment, or any of the extras that most couples are envisioning when they picture their wedding.

The most exclusive and most different property in the Secrets family. Reached by a 45-minute private catamaran from Cancún, this resort sits above the Caribbean on a tiny island with just 125 suites. Secrets vs. Sandals for Destination Weddings
This is the comparison we're asked most often. Both are excellent — but they're right for different couples.
- Choose Secrets if you want Mexico. Sandals has no Mexico properties — all 17 are in the Caribbean. If Mexico is your destination, Secrets is the clear all-inclusive choice.
- Choose Secrets if guests will be sharing rooms. Secrets offers two-bed rooms. Sandals does not — every room is designed for a couple sharing one bed. For wedding parties where friends are splitting costs or single guests are attending, Secrets is significantly more practical.
- Choose Secrets if you want symbolic ceremony flexibility at any property. Almost all Sandals properties only perform legal ceremonies — with the one exception being Sandals Curaçao. Secrets offers both legal and symbolic options across all their properties.

What's listed on the brand page may differ from what your specific resort offers. Always confirm directly with the wedding coordinator at your chosen property.
- Book well in advance for Playa Blanca and Maroma. These are the two most in-demand Secrets wedding properties in Mexico. Peak season dates (December–April) at both can book 12+ months out. If either is your top choice, don't wait.
- Ask about the site inspection programme. Secrets offers a site visit option at participating properties — you visit the resort before committing to your date, and the cost is credited toward your wedding package. Worth doing for larger weddings where venue selection really matters.
- Understand the Beyond Memorable requirements before getting excited about it. The most comprehensive package requires at least 75 paid room nights and must be booked a minimum of one year in advance. If you can't meet these thresholds, you'll be choosing from the lower package tiers — which are still excellent, just different.
