Couples chasing clear blue skies, sunny weather, and no rainfall should plan their trip between April and October, as these are the best months to travel to Tahiti. This is considered the island’s dry season, with average daily temperatures around 83.48°F, making it perfect for long beach days of relaxation.

Tip 2 – US Citizens Don’t Need a Visa to Travel to Tahiti

Just make sure your passport has a validity of at least 6 months, as this is a requirement when traveling to Tahiti from the US.

Tip 5 – Venture Beyond the Resort to Experience Tahiti to the Fullest
It’s easy to get comfortable in your resort and not want to move, but you’re going to be on one of the world’s most beautiful islands, so why not make the most of the best things to do in Tahiti?

There are some ATMs scattered around the island to withdraw some money, but it’s better to bring USD with you and exchange it into Cour de Franc Pacifique (CFP) when you get there. Currency exchange offices can be found at the airport and in the capital, Papeete.

Tip 7 – Consider Hiring a Car or a Driver
Getting around Tahiti without a car is tricky. Sure, there are local buses, but it’s much easier to just rent a car beforehand, so you can move freely around the island at your own pace. Many of the main car rental companies are located in Papeete, like Avis and Hertz, so you shouldn’t have any issues finding a vehicle.
Anyone who can’t drive can still hire a driver for the days when they want to explore. You can tell them the places you want to visit, and they’ll drive you around to them with plenty of stops in between for secret locations that tourists often don’t know about. Tip 8 – Pack Your Bug Spray
Although malaria is non-existent in Tahiti, other mosquito-borne illnesses are prevalent throughout the island, including dengue fever. Most hotels and resorts will already have protocols in place to handle them, but you should always take extra precautions yourself to be on the safe side.
